Yes. The same people who have elected all the other presidents since 1789, the Electoral College. We do not have a direct popular election of our presidents--never have.

And the Electoral College is not a single body of electors. That is, they don't all meet together in one place and cast a ballot. The electors from each state meet at the specified date every four years in their state capitols, (the seven smallest states have only 3 electors each , so it isn't much of a ceremony) and cast the ballots, which are then sealed and certified, and sent to the US Congress, which counts the ballots, and declares the new president as formally elected.

The Electoral College does, though at least 45 states have a rule that the electors must vote for the candidate who wins the popular vote in the state.

Each party or candidate nominates its own set of electors (equal to the number of congressmen, Senate plus House, the state has in Washington), so when you vote for that candidate, you're voting for their electors. If that candidate wins, their electors go to the state capitol on the Monday following the second Wednesday in December (which would be anywhere from December 13-19) and vote for their candidate. The ballots are sealed and sent to Congress, where they are counted on January 6 of the following year.

It is supposed to be the people but if 2000 is a benchmark (Al Gore won the popular vote and lost) The Supreme Court seems to be the new electorate.

The largest corporations in the US! I don't know "Cat Crazyi", Hillary talks the talk, but she doesn't walk the walk if you know what I mean! She's yaking whatever's selling today! She backsteps more than she takes a forward step and her motivation is strictly "money"! She doesn't have the front door key yet and I think she has a long way to go, Willie or not!!!!!!!!!

The best way I've heard it put: Americans vote for a presidential candidate based on criteria like this: If I went fishing and the boat's motor died, who would I want to be stranded with for the day?
