to give up a habit you could try the rubber band technique in which you condition yourself by snapping the rubber band on your arm to stop you from doing the habit! when you say work performance..... not sure about how you're going to brain wash yourself into better study.... if you find a good answer let me know too because right now i have a 2000 wrd essay due on thurs and im on here instead!! hmm...

Brainwash no - however there are a lot of tools to help performance at work, in business, in sport, in education. NLP, coaching, Hypnotherapy, and just good study skills.

I personally have helped over 120 people stop smoking. and many in each of the above.

Brainwashing is coercive, so if you need to to do this to yourself, then you're not fully committed to something.

Lack of 100% committment to something is going to be open to other conflicting goals, so start by deciding to do something completely. Don't start until you have this 100% drive, then go for what you want.

Hypnosis, whether self-hypnosis or undertaken with another, is an easy way to channel your unconscious mind's energies towards achieving your goals. But clear any lack of complete inner agreement first.

Good luck! Rob

Well there is such a thing a behaviourist psychology where the idea is that all behaviour is learnt.
So if you want to change a pattern of behaviour you must continually do it a different way and eventually it will become second nature. I guess this is similar to "brainwashing".

Yes, definitely. You have to tell yourself constantly your life would be so much better after this(kicking bad habit or whatever you want to do).....look up for example or cases of people you admire and their achievements.

It may sound silly now but when I was delivering my first baby and the pain was unbearable I brain washed myself into making it bearable by thinking of all the famous and beautiful women who had to go through it....if they could so would I...it worked....

Many of us become creatures of habit. So you must take the first steps by spending a little more effort on whatever area you wish to change - not always an easy thing to do.

One way way of achieving your goals is to release the resistance you feel in your thinking. There are various approaches in the field of energy psychology that are being validated based on sound research. One effective therapy is Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). I provide a good overview of the therapy on my website. Most efficient results would be gained from working with a practitioner in person or by phone, or you can try learning it for yourself at a basic level by downloading the free manual on the website of the founder of the therapy.

Yes. The government has brainwashed us to do things, so it is definitely possible.
