I want stories that do not try and complicate things, that try (and fail) to intrique me. I want books that have sole purpose to entertaine me. Books that excite me, amaze me, scare me..... books like Stephen King's.
I want thrills and chills, not the opposit.

I want well written books with appealing characters and a good plot. I would also like the book to teach me just a little something. For example, Patricia Cornwell's books teach you just a little bit about forensic science. I don't want a textbook, just a fact or two. Something about history or another culture is fine, too.

I spent nine years in college getting three degrees. I have no desire to return to school, but I still like to learn things.
