Example- some kinds of lighting actually stimulate customers to be in a shop=happy mood. THe store makes more, and people get deeper into debt.
Oh, well.

Oh absolutely. The energy the person brings. We are like magnets. If a person is always complaining and asking too many questions. That is the person's way of trying to manipulate you. The more imformation you give this person about you. The more manipulating the person wil become towards you. It is not very positve either. These are very toxic people you want to stay away from. They do not change. They become meaner and more manipulating with age. You can usually tell who these people are. When you meet a person for the very first time and that person tells you who he or she is . Believe them. No such thing as victims, but there are volunteers. I do not subscribe. Especially, the gossipers if they are talking about so and so they are talking about you as well.

It is not possible to manipulate your brain but yes, your feelings can be played with and it is done all the times in one way or the other.........A word of praise can put you in good mood for the whole day......criticism can put you off and spoil your mood. It all depends on how much the speaker means to you.....we value some people's opinion more than others.

Flattery is one method used by people with vested interests.
Bad-mouthing or criticism by your opponents.......

YES!! Advertisers do it to you all day long. Have you ever cried at a TV commercial - your mood was just manipulated. Significant others have this power over us as well. If they're happy, we're usually happy. If not, we're pretty miserable too. Then there are bosses, teachers, parents, friends ... so, yeah, and a lot of people can manipulate us. Sometimes we don't mind like when we're talked into going out, but sometimes we do, "Do this or your fired."

Quick answer to you question - only if you let them.

Sensory and sleep deprivation have been used in the past.

USA I believe have carried trials out on military personnel who for some reason signed a piece of paper to say they agree to being subject to same - catastrophic results.

PS A very effective way proven to change someones mood which any one can use and can be very helpful, is Music. Also Aromatherapists can do this using their expertise with essential oils.

Everything and everyone you come in contact with "manipulates" your brain. When someone slams a door in your face instead of holding the door open they have manipulated your brain by pissing you off. When someone says something kind and loving towards you they have manipulated your brain by making you feel good. Need I go on?

Imbibing alcohol tends to work for me. Depending on the amount in question, I go from an alert, fairly intelligent guy whose natural habitat is the great outdoors, to a comatose, useless lump whose natural habitat is the sofa.

Just ask my wife!

Sure, society does it all the time by showing you an almost unattainable ideal of beauty, thus changing your mood so that you feel ugly and yes, there it is, worthless.

Not so much manipulating your brain as influencing you in your thinking which in turn lead to your action I think.

Only if you allow it to happen. People can try to manipulate your thoughts, moods, etc. but it is up to you whether to allow it to affect you. Our reactions are our choice.
