I have noticed amongst a lot of younger gays that they seem to look at older gay men as 'disgusting'. If you are chatted up (US: Come on to) by an older man you often feel 'Oh, go away, you creature!' but if someone, say 22, who you didn't feel attracted to chatted you up, you'd just say, "No thanks."
Why?
PS I have noticed that some people don't answer the questions being asked so people re-read this before answering.

This question is not for homophobic abuse. It is for intelligent debate not infantile name-calling and hate-breeding.

Besides the "Father/Son" angle of this is one reason why I choose not to have a bf of such maturity, I can see that most older men view the "under 25" crowd as fresh meat and something that would be fun to do, but nothing pursued. Not to say that there isn't actual older men that want a relationship with a younger man, or vise versa, but the general consensus is that thinking.
I can not say for certainty of why younger men would answer differently, but it could be more of a status thing. You wouldn't want to be stuck up with people your age or younger because then they talk to other people your age or younger that you could be interested in. Where they don't feel that kind of threat if you call it from someone older.

Personally I like a real man, not some stupid kid who’s just out of school. I don’t think a 22 year old would find an older guy (40’s) disgusting. What they do find irritating is when a guy old enough to be their father starts hitting on them. I don’t think this is a “gay” thing, I’m sure a 22 year old straight female would feel the same. I do agree that there’s more of an “ageism” problem in the gay world. A straight man at 35 would be seen as young, but a gay man at that age is seen as “an old guy” or at least in a lot of clubs that’s how they’d see him.

Because many young people missed the class for civility and manners. However since there is a large community of older men and younger men(and this assumes adults) who are attracted to each other and who sustain long lasting healthy relationships, your example is not a true picture of real life. Get out more.

That is an age old question to which I am not sure there is a definitive answer.
I will say this to the younger guys - be nice to older guys because one day (sooner than you think) you will be them and then younger guys won't pay any attention to you.

At that age, the majority are only looking for guys their own age, and the thought of an older guy disgusts them.

I'm 19 and actually, I like older men sometimes. I dated a 35 year old for a few months(i know that's not that old, but still)... I'm not gonna lie... I dig the business man thing...

I haven't seen 25 for a while, but I still like men that are older than I am.

If the older dude is nice and clean and fresh...then no problem. Anyway, just because a dude is gay doesn't mean that all men of any age are "attractive".
