i asked a question yesterday and someone answered that they didn't like me because i look like a shallow girl who only cared about shopping and getting my nails done. i am wondering is this the same as judging a person because they are fat. thinking that they are going to be lazy. Or is this diffrent? it just seems wrong and mean to me. does it seem wrong to you?

No, I worked with a clean-cut, no tattoos, no earrings, missionary-look-a-like young guy who was always polite & happy, untill I found out he was a heavy coke & meth dealer & user! (you can't judge a book by it's cover!)-Oh, & I've been judged by "all the ink" on my body too!-lol

I do agree with you. Unfortunately when I was at secondary school the girls with the perfect hair and manicured nails were total bitches which did spurn my opinion a little. Admittedly, when I started my job I made a new friend that looked like these glam girls that I used to know and before we became friends I had this idea that she would be shallow and self centred but she proved me wrong. I think it is totally wrong to judge someone by appearances but I think sometimes, when you have bad experiences of something it clouds your judgement a little.

Nothing wrong with getting your nails done girl, as long as they look good.

I try not to, but you know what they say about first impressions.....

It's in human nature to judge someone based on their appearance, but you are right. We should not judge people because of how they look, but a person has to carry him/herself the way they want the world to see them.
I see many fat persons that don't seem at all lazy to me, simply because of the way they move and carry themselves.

I don't know about you, but if I see someone who fits the stereotype of what a robber is supposed to look like walking towards me, I will walk to the other side of the road just to be on the safe side. You would probably do the same thing too.

Majority of the folk choose persons by potential of looks, this is in simple terms the decrease of ways lots the different person is judged, according to danger basically an rather good-looking/rather person is the minimum requirement for some, or someone whose easy is the minimum requirement for others. After that judgement, people might maximum in all probability decide for their character, form and character, having what in easy is the biggest danger.

I think in reality everyone sort of makes a very quick judgement when they first meet someone. I hate when people look at a heavy person, and just assumes they're lazy. I think it's wrong, and very unfair. Everyone is different. I've been heavy, and I've been very thin, and it amazes me how people treated me when I was heavy. Men wouldn't look twice. After I lost all my weight, those same men would ask me out. LOL. NEVER. I was, and am the same person. So, I've actually lived it. Big people have feelings. ~!~

No, I don't....

I have learned, being an overweight person myself, that I have been judged purely by my looks.....I may be fat, but I am the absolute furthest from being lazy....I am a VERY active person....but yet....I get judged...

NEVER judge a book by it's cover....the bad judgement you place on a person for the wrong reason....you could be judging someone who could save your life one day....either with their friendship or physically...you never know...

My best friend puts off the "air" that she is a MAJOR *****...BUT...she is the type of person that will take a stray home....bathe it, feed it, & then keep it....same goes for a person...she takes care of others...when they don't have...

I put off the "air" that I am a fat, lazy, bubble head....when in fact...I spend my days off in the woods with my kids hiking...camping...fishing...we ride bikes...we go skating....we play ball....I have a VERY clean house & vehicle...work 2 jobs...& maintain a personal life....along with a family life....I am VERY intelligent...& proud of my accomplishments...

Like I said...NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER...Read the book before you make your assessment

It is wrong, but I find it not to judge someone by their appearance. Just because they wear baggy clothes doesn't mean they could pull a gun on me. Just because they wear a suit and tie for their casual wear doesn't mean they got millions. But looks do sum up a person. Get where I'm coming from?

No, I'm too busy judging them on the way they think...it is wrong to judge no matter how we do it, but it is human nature. I could say that the person who judged you sounds like some cantankerous old woman, but how am I ever really to know? People use images to express their hearts, and words can be destructive.....

I am sort of curious why you choose the picture you choose, but that is just my nature to wonder....I know it is a piece of you that you love, whatever it is :)

It is mean, the person should think about the shallowness they have for expressing (not liking) someone based upon a look.

well if they stink and wear crappy clothes you can pretty much tell they don't take care of them selves

but you nor i nor anyone else can judge by what ppl wear or how big or small they are

i do not judge anyone until i know them that is the only way to truly judge someone
