They don't want to see him, end of story.
Tell him to get a lawyer and go to court for visitation rights.
The court will listen to what the kids want. At the very worst, it will be limited supervised access once a week away from the mother's home.
The best scenario is that the judge tells him to go away.
Basically, he gave up any 'rights' to their love, respect, and desire to be around him the day he started the violence towards their mother.

Its tru that he does have a legal right, but its nt as straight 4ward as that.. She can put her case forward and protect her children. The court will eventually side with what the children want.(depending on age ) go 2 citz advice.
But for now dont let him near them. If he comes round, tell her to b brave n front it out - obviously have sum1 there incase he goes ballistic, but he doesnt necessarily have to see them until the court has ruled judgement.
The minute he turns violent over it all (hopefully he wont ) get a restraining order - unfortunatly u cant have a reatraining order on sum1 unless theyv actually touched you, so their mum may have to take at least 1 slap - its crazy, but its tru and the only way to get a restraining order. (well at least this was the rule around 3 years ago ).
GOOD LUK * and have the ice pak ready - it wld b nice to think the police would just wait in the wings n stop it b4 it happens but thats just what goes on tv - us z - list celebrities haveto take a few punches b4 were taken seriously !

If he wants to see the kids, let him get a court order for visitation. If his intentions are good, he won't have a problem telling the courts/judge of his prison record.

well everyone has a right to see their kids
if he is violent then he needs to seek councelling and maybe suporvised visitation
the person chose to have children with him so she cant stop him seeing his children its the childrens rights to see their dad and no mother has a right to stop that even if she did give birth she should have chosen a more suitable candidate if she doenst like the one she got

well, this is tricky, it depends on how much you want to get to know the father! personally i don't think he's worth it if he was violent to your mum! i mean after all its not like he can teach you anything! it depends on whether you have any questions for him. your question maybe can he really change, im not sure people change that much... im sorry to say this but if i witnessed my father being biolent to my mum i wouldn not want anything to do with him.
good luck, i wish you all the best in whatever decision you make

one day the kids will understand and see what is happening , dont play the game of trying to convince the kids , one day they will understand it , and it will be because of the responses to the questions they may ask one day .. i feel for you , but hold onto your pain , one day it will all be worth it

Court order...
Police
No way in hell does he get near you.
Ask for help with big strong mates who can have a word... like dangle him off a high structure so he understands the point

If that is so, the problem will automatically be sorted out sooner than later.
