By listening to what the person is saying. Some times life is your better teacher. My step-father's famous saying was you can send a dummy to school but you cannot make him think. By really listening to what a person is saying and some people can really fool you especially a well read person. I have gotten more imfornation out of books. My sons' 5th grade teacher taught the kids that books were their best friends. You be intellingent. That is when you will know when some is intelligent. Knowledge is power and it is some thing that nobody will ever take away from you. The more books you read the smarter you become in reading people. Books are much more interesting. Nobody gets hurt. The characters are harmless. Some times reality is stranger than fiction. I have a family member that has not a lick of common sense. She does not live in the real world. She hates me because I tell her who she is with all of her education a master degree and a license to practise some thing she truly knows nothing about which are children. She is very opionated and thinks she knows it all. My comment to her is opinions are like assholes every one has one. Kids do not come with instructions. They are reminders of how we treated our parents. It is payback time from our parents. The grandchildren can do what ever they want.

True intelligence comes from caring about others rather than just yourself. Intelligence has nothing to do with how well you do academically. Intelligent people are capable of admitting that they are wrong of their own free will. Unintelligent people will argue the point into complete delusion because their only objective is believing that they are right.
In essence intelligent people search for the truth, unintelligent people search only for evidence to believe their ideas are correct no matter how obvious it is that they are wrong.

Ask an intelligent question and judge by the answer you receive.

You can tell some people are intelligent by their sense of humour, by the way they speak or present ideas, or simply by their use of common sense.

There are different levels of intelligence, and life is made more interesting by the differences.

He ( she ) never asks stupid questions and never give stupid answers. He ( she ) acts in accordance with reason and even when he ( she ) is forced to act instinctively he ( she ) avoids
unnecessary actions...He ( she ) never claims he ( she ) is in a exclusive possession of all mighty truth, but always acclaims concession to a vise person !
