Possibly. But why do you think that?? To shame the Army for disagreeing with its Iran agenda . There is right now a major power struggle between the commanders of the armed forces and Bush neocon inc. I'd bet my life on it .

I don't think so. This has been such an embarrassment for the current administration. The shameful treatment of our troops returning from war and war veterans has gone on for a very long time.

The problem for the current President & those of the right side of the isle is they got caught with the Assess hanging out again. They beat the drum of support our troops so loudly that many thought "only the best for our warriors was the default".

They were caught by Rumsfelds comment "you go to war with what you have not what you want." The resultant PR scandal STILL is reverberating every time a humvee is blown up. You always have to wonder... did the troops die or were injured in a humvee that had not been upgraded?

Then there's the "No stop loss." Many of the "patriots" have been sent for multiple tours of duty. Their contracts "breeched" gaurinteeing they would be release by a specific date. Hum, kind of reminds one of how the Native Americans "treaties’" were broken... What cha think?

Now to the mess at Walter Reed. Yeah, Clinton was a liar, BUT, after six years and a half trillion dollars? One would think the U.S military's hospitals would have been built with gold bars!

Buildings in need of asbestos abatement? Veteran's being required to provide co-payments?

If they planned this mess to be exposed, they did a great job. As good a job planning not to find WMD's and the Iraqi people throwing rose petals at the troop’s feet.

This is becoming a very bad remake of the shakiest gun in the west. The real shame? Rumsfeld has not been drawn and quartered? Just as bad? Nobody has said a word about the mess he and his boss has made.

How is the administration addressing this? By pulling the sympathy card! Notice that Chaney is suddenly in the news with Thrombosis?

Walter Reed was scheduled to close in 2005 and all treatment of wounded vets was to be done at Bethesda Naval Hospital. The government under the Bush administration spent HUNDREDS of MILLIONS of dollars upgrading Bethesda. But....political pressure from congress and the District of inCompetence(Washington) pressured the VA to keep the 100-year old Walter Reed open.

WOW.....For someone you consider to be ignorant, barely competent , etc. Bush has sure been able to plan a lot more things than anyone could have expected huh?

Speaking as a veteran who served in the late 70s I can certainly confirm that VA facilities have been fiscally challenged for DECADES!!

But you go ahead & believe what you read in some blog....If anyone should shoulder blame it would be our Congress, AND the American people themselves for not stepping up to support better treatment of our service members dating back over 40 years!!

Right now it's fashionable to righteously indignant, but sadly that will pass & all the born again Patriots will once again take our military for granted!!

i dont think so, i think b/c of ABC report Bob Woodward's injury and the treatment he received and him later finding out vets dont get that level of care, and the whistlblower, made this come out.

My dad was a vet and back in the early 80's had to be treated at the Vet Hospital in Albany, NY, he took, that long ago said conditions were horrible...dirty, he would see roaches and mice in the hallways and sometime his room, in general just said it was dirty...especially for a hospital. He complained, wrote some letters and was basically told to be thankful he was getting treatment for free...guess he didnt have the power to make any changes...I dont think Walter Reed is the only hospital having the sanitary problems..

According to a couple of US veterans there is nothing really new about building 18. The conditions in some holding wards are kept poor to discourage veterans who may be looking for a disability pension. This was true even as far back as the 1950s. According to a US Navy veteran, the navy used a similar system on him some years ago.

Absolutely!

Just like Bush-co planned Hurricane Katrina to wipe out the people of New Orleans and 9/11 to justify slaughtering the people of Iraq for their oil.

Now, Bush-co, with their nefarious plans almost completed, has turned it's evil eye on the U.S. Military!

Not exactly. BUT...

Buscho KNEW that in the wake of it's war, all VA hospitals needed ramping up, and couldn't just burble along as they did all through the 70s, 80s and 90s. That failure to ramp up is just one more example of Bushco being more focused on playing cowboy around the globe, than taking care of the business of serving the American people, which he was elected to do.

No, because Bush and company have no plan for anything, they just re-act to the latest mess ups as they come along.
