Let's start a culture/society rebellion and do something about it then. What have we got to lose? Let’s build a network that will take on whatever is keeping our country from "being", as we've all envisioned. All South Africans with computers or access to e-mail against all those who are corrupt? We spent so much time on the net posting our complaints, would it hurt if we spent it fighting our rotten system?…and it is our system. We can fight this system (not by killing and harming others)...Is anyone interested? I've got a few suggestions on how we can do this, who wants in?

Suggestion 1...?
Let's flood their inboxes with complaints... (Freedom of speech- it is our "right"). Imagine 23 million people complaining to one person about one thing and actually doing something about it. Suggestion 1: Emails.(focus our attention on one thing/issue)

What do you think XEEK?

Proud, guys? there has to be a way and i'm not going to rest until...blah! what about pamphlets and posters? if all else fail, we spam them.

imagine this, if vodacom were to go a day without customers they'd loose billions and find ways to reduce their tarrifs so as to keep us hocked, but now they don't need us anymore instead we need them.... so i'm saying basically there is something we can do to this government to make them see that they need us, "happy and satisfied" with how it runs this country...!

Stalk the government............!?
All I'm saying is; lets stalk the government and the people (those who abuse the power we gave them e.g. ministers) who condone what's happening in/to our country. Let's not be like them, the media is turning us into (if we aren’t already) passive observers... Ozzy_Chick & GBB we're not going to kill or harm anyone, read post again. And Smiley, please migrate!

So this is the beggining of it all then?

2007-03-06 17:44:03 · update #4

Alf, Smiley wants nothing (does not care) to do with this country where as the people (us) our minister was referring to "give a s#$t"! We are looking for a way to make this work here, not a away to - "not". The idea here is to annoy/stalk them (one step at a time - until something they fix @least one thing). They might still enrich themselves (typically), but if the don't make it obvious...who knows.......!?

Good idea, just write letters - snail mail or e-mail and send to their piers, not within the country but outside in Europe and America.

can you imagine if every South African wrote one letter on the same or similar subject and sent it to the UN or European Parliament or USA or even the House of Commons in England and asked them to investigate, just "ask questions". The sheer volume of correspondence would get their attention. and then if everyone sent one every month on a similar theme how much there would be then.

How strong would that spotlight be? Do you think that perhaps they would tip toe a little gingerly while all that was going on?

I firmly believe that one or two even a hundred or two might be ignored but if we all did it and kept doing it others would sit up and take notice and start asking too many awkward questions for the ANC to continue on the same path.

Don't you think?

The problem with your suggestion is that it is based on the misconception that you live in a Democracy when in fact the ANC is no more than a neo Communist Kleptocracy. You have sufficient examples over the past 12 or so years to comprehend that they do not listen to anyone other than themselves and the only plans they have are self enrichment.A look at the recent Crime initiative by FNB and the response from Mbeki and co. should be enough to convince you that they will automatically go into denial, delusionary tactics and deflecting the blame. You have an unbelievable problem in getting rid of the ANC and I believe it will take intervention from the Democratic West in conjunction with internal forces.Communists do not give up power and their only interest is control and self enrichment. Lastly your comment to Smiley is so typical of the shallow thinking South African as demonstrated by your Minister of Safety and Security ( an oxymoron).

Inocentia - You chose to be a 3rd World Moron and ignore facts. Play to your strengths and leave the intellectual stuff to others who know.

behind you all the way baby!!!

Alf *yawn*..... get into the swing of things please. You complain so much about the government, wherever you are out of the country and continent. Yet you have such a mouthful of "but's" and and doubts... Shut it and support the downfall of the ANC coz I know the idea makes you tingle anyway....
We can fantasize at times cant we? Get a bit smartly imaginative and stop trying to be so "stat smart" we get that you're a genius when it comes to RSA politics. dont you have a positive bone in your body? just admit that you're bitter and nothing tickles your fancy (mars attack said it once, i shall not repeat it)...gee!

Yes, yes, yes! You got my attention. And my support. Now let's just get a plan of action. :-)

The most frustrating thing about what is going on in SA, is how helpless one feels about not being able to do something about it.

And obviously the great thing about your idea is the fact that we can all do it, whether we are in SA, UK, USA etc.

What kind of culture/rebellion,society exactly are you considering my friend? Stranger things HAVE happened in this country, might just be worth some attention, as long as this idea of yours does not border on vigilantism! (Trust me, we've heard IT ALL on this forum!)

I agree with Ozzy_Chik you'll have to be more clear about what you intend to do. If it involves strapping any kind of explosives to any sensitive parts of my body, you're on your own.
