Perhaps the answer is that you shouldn't have waited until 40 for life to begin. Instead, start out earlier and get a good run at it. The momentum you build up before you turn 40 will carry you right on through.

Perhaps you have the wrong idea of what life is, or what "THEY" meant.

Perhaps there is something, or a lot of somethings, that you have learned prior to turning 40 that make it easier for you to live. You know, we all make mistakes and we learn from them. After 40 years of mistakes, maybe we have that part of life almost figured out.

I don't know your situation, but I do know you are not alone in feeling this way.

Try a paradigm shift. Perhaps looking at the situation in a different way might help.

When you do identify the problem/issue(s), don't brush it under the carpet, deal with it. Choosing not to deal with it is like looking through the windshield of your car as you're speeding toward a block wall and instead of putting on the brakes, backing up and going in the opposite direction, you roll up the windows, crank up the XM, and hit the gas.

It is all about having the right mindset. Be positive about life. Don't wait for it to come to you-go out there and live it! Only through our actions do things begin, it is not magic. I too am 40, so I know how you feel. I do feel as though this is this best age to be. Not too young and never to old. It is like I am at peace with myself-finally. I am not ashamed to be 40. I am more alive now than I have ever been. Go out there and have fun. Discover new opportunities. Live your life the way YOU want too for nobody can stop you now! Good luck!

Well, I know that I would not go back to my 30's or 20's for ANY thing. I think turning 40 is supposed to represent a mindset that shows what life is really about. Being grateful for being alive, having family, looking forward to grandkids. I find that I appreciate the simpler things in life now. I'm not so caught up in "appearances", like a snazzy car, fancy house, designer clothing, etc. I can now AFFORD these things, but choose a four door Honda that gets 40 miles to the gallon.....:). I can settle for a 30 or 40 dollar pair of jeans rather than a 100 dollar pair of jeans....I used to try to kill myself to have all those things. Now I just think it is a waste of money. I guess it just depends on what your definition of life is.

Yes, life begins at 40... What they didn't say was life begins to deteriorate at 40... Hang in there cause it's all down hill from here. Sorry, but the truth is the truth.

Well, don't just wait around for it to knock on your door - go out and grab it! Make it happen!! Thats what its all about - because at 40, you should be wise enough to know how to really live, but in a way thats a lot more intelligent than your earlier years. So GO! Now!!! Go get it!!!

I say life begins At 70.

How ?

Well till 20 we listen to Parents.
Till 50 we listen to wife (or husband !)
Till 70 we are busy in son and daughters jobs and life establishment.

Only after 70 we retire and start living our own life.
