This is Dirk's year....He's worked too hard for what it's worth right now. If you asked him to choose between league MVP and a (championship) ring, I'm sure that he would tell you the latter (ring) That team's on a mission. People can say what they want to say that they choked, whatever. But here's the difference what a true fan that follows them closely and the average person doesn't understand is that now the Mavs know how to WIN. Last year's version didn't figure that out, that's why they lost. They didn't have that "killer instinct". Avery Johnson and Donnie Nelson made a concerted effort to get the players that not only fit the system but the psycholgical makeup of the team they wanted. For example Devean George, won 3 NBA rings. He may come off the bench, but he knows what's up when it's the playoffs. Austin Croshere, he was a long time starter at Indiana, and he also has some finals experience. Greg Buckner, he's not known for scoring, but he can pester your best offensive guard or small forward with his defense. People tend to think that Avery "The Little General" Johnson is running some fly-by night operation. You might as well quit letting that rent space in your head. The man is for REAL. He knows how to make adjustments when the time calls for it. When he was with the Spurs and he got his first ring, he was interning as a coach by leading the offense then. Don't get me wrong, Phoenix is an exceptional team and Mike D'Antoni should be up for coach of the year again with Avery, but what hurt that team is when the G.M. left to go to the Raptors. Had Coangelo stayed, we would be talking about Phoenix right now instead of the Mavs.

MVP- With all the stick the NBA is getting from giving it to Nash the last 2 years, I think theyll give it to Dirk this time around.
