Install a water softener, if you don't know what this is, it is an appliance that is hooked up to your water lines, it has a resin tank that you fill with salt pellets and the water filters through this and the salt takes out all the minerals that make hard water such as iron (rust) sulfur and you would be amazed at the difference this will make with taste and feel, you will use less soap and laundry will be cleaner. you can rent these or buy your own if you are a home owner I would suggest you purchase your own because you will be ahead in the long run.

Depends what you want it for - if this is a skin concern and you want to softer water in your bath - you can add a littlebit of CIder vinegar in your bath. It works wonders!
