Just for the record, condoms are not 100 percent keeping you from having either. The only sure fire way of not getting pregnant or getting an STD is abstinence. But they have been proven effective in helping to PREVENT both pregnancy and disease.

Condoms were originally designed to keep a woman from having babies. But since we now tend to have more than one lover in our time we need to protect ourselves too.
If you are concerned about pregnancy then you should be on a more reliable birth control method other than the condom. But you should still use a condom anyway to protect you from serious diseases.

Well some people say that if you use a condom right, you wont get pregnant or get diseases. But then again..... a condom can bust, come off or have a little whole. So anything can happen.

they are supposed to keep the sperm from entering you body therefor keeping it from fertilizing an egg therefor keeping you from getting pregnant. but the key words there are 'supposed to' it is not always guaranteed. the same goes with STDs it is supposed to keep you from getting them but sometimes you still might get a disease.

Nothing in life is guaranteed except taxes and death.

Well, they are supposed to do both.

But they aren't 100% reliable.

They only keep you safe if you use lots of lubricant so that they don't rip and don't forget that oral sex is still sex as far as diseases go.

It is capable of both, although not 100% guaranteed. So don't take chances.
