Prince Harry is following the tradition of previous Royals who have been members of the armed forces.
Prince Andrew was flying helicopters during the battles to regain the Falkland Isles. Hardly a job that was away from the action.
The Duke of Edinburgh did service in the Mediterranean during the Second World War.
All through history it was usual for the King to lead their armies into battle.
I find it difficult to see what the problem is.

prince harry will go there accept not take orders. drive around in his armored cars with the others on the armored cars. he most likely will get some job like driving around the green zone after heavy tanks have all just surrounded the place . he then would drive his group around really fast claiming it was a test to see how fast the car would go then back to the green zone and down about 300 feet to review how the car ran . the review would last about a month and all this would take place at the -300 feet level. then back up .
some solider with a sore toe is walking up to the gates he has been searched he is Australian so off harry goes with his armored car and his armored car friends to drive about 1000 yards outside the green zone. they will put the solider with the sore toe on a stretcher with lots of bandages and lots of pic taken then again fast as the car can go back to the green zone and back to make a report about this all for about 3 more months at about -300 feet below ground.
then in the dead of night with every plane the allies have in the air he will fly off from his brave duty back to London where a wait of 3 days will take place before he pretends to land in a regular troop plane and meet the press. then off to the palace for tea and cookies after a jolly good effort in the jolly good war.
note i cant say that how he wants it to be but like edward said no point in being a comando if they wont let me fight. so he quit the army.

He's in charge of an armoured division. So he's sat in the equivalent of a miniature tank with about 4 or 5 armoured personnel carriers and support weapons, it's mobile and heavy firepower. We are not talking about a trooper walking down the streets of Baghdad with camo and a prayer between him and the enemy.
I do think he will not be kept entirely from the fighting, but Iraq is a peacekeeping mission now, there is no "front" to keep him away from. However as danger goes he's surrounded by reinforced steel with big guns attached, so it will be a job to get to him.

I think it may be partly for the publicity, but also duty. I do not know much of the Royal family, but if he is to become future king he will do this to prove that he can be a leader as well as common man. He will prove to be a good man to his country. And unlike some world leaders (not to start a political debate) he will actually have served time and not say he has.
As for a target, he may be sought after, but then again any soldier is in danger.

Prince Harry wants to serve is country. He will go wherever his duty takes him. Not a publicity stunt - there is no need, he is 3 rd in line to the British throne.
Good for him to go and do his duty - I wish all the people would appreciate it.

What do you think camoflage is for. Would you recognise prince harry in full uniform pointing a gun at you? It up to him if he wants to do it. He signed up. Besides if everyone out there is looking for him maybe everyone else will get an ease up for a while.
Come to think of it maybe he should walk in front on his own wearing a crown.

Who are you kidding??
Prince Harry will be no where near any actual combat. His going to war is simply good press for the folks back home.
Everybody knows he will get some "gravy" job where the photographers can take good pictures, and Harry can look like he is doing his bit for queen and country.
You don't send Royals into combat, they'll be the primary targets.

I think it is great him wanting to help out and what not however he is royalty and therefore putting more people in danger.
Whoever is by his side has a big chance of getting injured if they try and protect him.

The German parasite will only be in danger of death if he goes anywhere never an American operation as they will almost certainly manage to kill him, but then again this will be the only good thing they have ever done in their lives if they do.
