Virginia has lost to Utah (11-18), Miami (11-19), and Wake Forest (14-15). All horrible teams. The only game Tennessee lost to a team with a losing record is South Carolina (14-15). Tennessee has beat more ranked teams, lost to better teams, and also has more wins. Tennessee lost three games while Lofton was hurt. Why does Tennessee not get the respect from all the coaches in the country outside of the SEC? Does anyone agree with me? If not, explain.

Tennis4746 go and look at the ESPN/Coaches poll that came out yesterday and you will see that UVA is ranked and UT is not.

I agree completely. Tennessee was undefeated at home this year, and that's amazing with their home schedule. They played with heart, coming from behind to beat Texas and Oklahoma State, and they completely dominated Florida (up by 27 at one point). Tennessee does not get the respect it deserves because it is not historically a "men's basketball" school. Bruce Pearl took us to the NCAA tournament last year with a 2 seed, and I honestly think this team is better than last year.

I see us making it to the Elite Eight at a minimum. If we can get Lofton on fire, his outside shooting will open up the inside to Duke Crews.

GO VOLS!!

Virginia is 20-9, 11-5 in the conference and shares the ACC regular season title with UNC and is the 2 seed in the conference tourney. Plays in the toughest conference in Basketball this season ACC. Tennesee is 22-9, 10-6 in the conference, and is a 3 seed in the SEC tourney.

But I think the rankings in college basket dont make a lot of sense either way. The rankings in all college sports dont make a lot of sense which is why playoffs sould always bee used to determine a chmapion.

the first up to date ratings poll i came to had tennessee ranked #7
while virginia was at 43. the second [the ncaa's official] was at #8 and #41 respectively. tennessee has had good wins over texas, oklahoma state, memphis, florida, vanderbilt, alabama, kentucky,
miss. st. , and other conf. teams. they had good losses to north carolina, ohio state, vanderbilt, florida. they had bad losses to south carolina.
virginia had good wins over arizona, maryland[2] . duke, gonzaga, georgia tech, virginia tech
good losses from north carolina
bad losses from appalachian state, purdue, utah, stanford, miami, wake forest. i havent see a recent poll that has virginia
ranked ahead of tennessee but if there is one i am sure it will change soon. good luck at the dance!

Its a coaches poll. Its opinionated. The coach votes for whomever he feels like. He can vote for a team for #1 without a win if i he so chooses. But most don't.

At this time of year, it doesn't matter what the coaches think.

All that matters is what the selection committee thinks.
