the best way to confront this is to stay positive, just think of how much better life is going to be for you, keep that thought in mind and that thought only.cheers

Is it a secreting or non-secreting tumor? Have they ruled out heart problems? Have they done an echocardiogram? Make sure they replace any lost pituitary function with meds or it could really mess you up (growth hormone, repro meds, thyroid, cortisol, etc.). If you are hypopit and have the surgery without replacing cortisol it could be VERY dangerous. Then the hormone levels post surgery will have to be followed and replaced and upped as needed. Some Drs are still in the dark ages about the necessity of replacing all of these hormones but there are plenty of studies to support them.

Not only remain positive as the other poster suggested but try to relax as well. Let your dr know if you need something to help you with that. Also, ask if there's something that you can take for the pain during the time you wait for this surgery.

I wish you well with your procedure.

It depends on the tumor and how it is affecting your physiology. Whether it is physiological of stress related, you might want to ask your doctor to refer you to pain management / relaxation techniques. They will be helpful during recovery, as well. Do not hesitate to ask for pain medicine if you need it, but if you can avoid it, better.
