I want to delay my period but have left it a little late. I know you're supposed to take Norethisterone 3-4 days before your period is due. However what happens if I take it the day before? Will nature just run its course anyway or is there a chance it could still work?

U need to understand the menstrual cycle....
Endometrium (inner lining of uterus) is supported by hormones produced by ovary n those hormones are PROGESTERON n estrogen...if pregnancy do not occurs ovary stops producing Progesteron..n lack of progesteron for 2-3 days leads to withdrawl of support of "endometrium" which then get shed out...to which we call it as "Menses" .
So If u want to avoid menses ...u need to support endometrium using "Artificial PROGESTERON" like NORETHISTERONE....n u must receive it before natural progesteron produced by ovary get dissapeared....that is 3-4 days prior to your expected day of menses...

now Practically...if you take it jst a day prior there is still apossibility that endometrium could get support n there will b postponement of menses...but nobody will gaurantee abt it if taken jst a day prior!

Have u asked this beacause u face problem with nor... tablets...n u wanna reduce it as one or two tab only?
