i'm an optimist most of the time but every now and then i get to thinking...that other shoe has to fall sometime.

I used to anticipate the worst, with the idea that if things went bad I wouldn't be too badly affected as I was expecting it anyway, and if things went well it'd be a pleasant bonus and I'd enjoy it more.
With experience though, I gradually learned that it doesn't work like that. By expecting the worst all the time you risk making yourself depressed, and in some cases it can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. You expect the worst, which in turn affects the way you act, which can makes the worst case scenarios more likely to happen.
So these days I try to anticipate the best, while still being realistic about things.

I tend to anticipate the worst, then I will end up pleasantly surprised when things turn out well.

the worst outcome first, just so that if the worst does happen i wont be dissapointed, then i think of the best, then the worst, then i tackle the issue, expecting the worse but hoping for the best lol

it depends but unfortunately ive learnt to look on the bad side of things as if you expect the worst it doesnt hurt as much if it happens, and it always does!
