I used to sit VERY close to the TV and both my parents kept telling me I would get glasses one day. Well, they were right.

My sister and I both sat quite close to the TV. I am the one that ends up with the glasses though, how bogus is that. It came to the point though where my mother put a line of tape on the living room carpet which told us how close we could sit. It was unfair at the time.
Especially when Romper Room was on and she called my name because she saw it in the Magic Mirror. I was so happy but couldnt give Miss Sally a hug. I cried for a week. I think. I am 30 yo now, how can I remember that far back.

Yes, as a kid me and the TV screen (when it was on otherwise that would have REALLY been weird) were seldom an inch apart. It's like us kids had to absorb the movie straight from screen to eye with as little in between as possible. Ironically I dont watch TV any more. think I O.D-ed as a kid.

I used to sit really close and my mum used to say i was go have eye problems. well that was a risk i was willing to take. yep i now wear glasses.

I got square eyes. Look how close I am to the computer.
I think parents should tell their kids "get a haircut! you got lice on the back of your head!", that'll get the brats out of the way.

No - when I was young there wasn't any TV! TV didn't come to my town until 1959. I was 23 by then!

Yea I did...i guess I wanted to go into the TV screen and join Kermit and his friends or something lol. And yes, my mom did scream at me for it...haha.
