Is your baby having her usual wet nappies? Is she constantly screaming? Is she gulping down the milk you gave her? She is probably dehydrated. Give her milk if that's all she'll drink as dehydration can become a serious problem very quickly in babies. If your baby has had a dramatic decrease in wet nappies then she is already dehydrated. If your baby is screaming & cannot be comforted then she needs medical assessment. I would get a second opinion from a doctor & i'd say the best place to get that would be an emergency dept. if you find your baby has not settled with a good drink of milk (diluted with water). Teething is not causing your baby to be this unwell. Although milk may make your baby throw up, she will be retaining small amounts & that has to be better than nothing. I would just say to you - get her seen again she doesn't sound well or else she is very thirsty &/or hungary. Best of luck.

either ring the nhs direct line or go straight to hospital, my little one is 10 months to and was quite ill a couple of weeks ago, similar signs to yours but without the screaming. She turned out to have tonsilitious, bad teething and the stomach bug thats going round all at the same time. As it was all viral there wans't anything I could give her except calpol for the tonsils and the teeth. Baby is probably screaming as she is hungry to so just feed her little and often, I just gave milk water and mashed potato is a great filler and she actually kept it down.
If she does start to get diarehoa then try and get some diralyte form the chemist as this will replace the fluids and salts/sugars she is losing just make sure you make it up in the correct concentration.
But definately get a second oppinion before you try anything just to rule out anything to serious.

Well, the doctor has already looked her over.. so you might need to ride this one out-- but you've already done exactly what the doctor told you not to, such as give her milk and food. She's not going to starve to death in a day... you need to keep her hydrated with clear liquids like water. Maybe you can get her to take a few sips of some clear ginger-ale (stir it with a spoon until ALL the bubbles are out of it and it's flat)... that might help to soothe her stomach a little. I wouldn't give her anymore "Calpol" until the vomiting passes, unless your doctor specifically tells you to. Maybe you can get her to settle down by rubbing her back or stomach/abdomen gently ... but if she's still throwing up or doesn't seem any better in a few hours, call the doctor (or take her in) again.

firstly, don't panic, u have done the right thing & taken her to the doctor, it does sound like a tummy bug but the dr is right to stop milk & solids for today as the vomiting is making her stomach sore, there is no need for u to take her to the ER or casualty depending on the country u are in as there is nothing anyone can do for an upset stomach.
try rubbing her belly clockwise or putting a warm flannel on it to ease the pain, she should feel better by late afternoon, keep giving her water (cooled boiled) & keep an eye on her nappies, she must pee regulary otherwise it is a sign of dehydration, if she is not starting to get better by early evening say she is still vomiting then either call the out of hrs dr service. if u live in the UK u could call NHSD on 0845 46 47 & speak to a nurse for peace of mind, lastly use yr mothers instinct as we know our babies better than anyone - if u live in the UK & are very concerned dial 999 as these days they don't just take u to casualty they have ECP who are qualified to diagnose medically or just send a para in a car to check her out, be prepared for a c.rap night again as she will need time to settle back in to her routine so when she sleeps today u should sleep aswell
Good luck

Ring the NHS Direct helpline. You will be asked for all her symptoms and they should be able to tell you what the matter is. They may, if they think she is poorly enough, tell you to go to A & E. It is dangerous for babies not to hold down liquids for a length of time as they get dehydrated very quickly. Diorylite is very good for illnesses like this. It comes in a powder form and you mix it with cooled boiled water and give that to her as often as she will accept it. It does sound like a tummy bug but please ring NHS Direct.

take her to the hospital. The doctors right about the milk...it's one of the worse things for vomiting. Give her a very diluted drink of cordial or flat lemonade. I know the sugar sounds bad, but it's easier to hold down, and she needs to regain fluids more then she needs to eat.
I would get her to the hospital though

Get her to A&E NOW!!!! Remember not all GP's are correct in their diagnosis. My daughter was ill last year for around two days. I took her to my GP 3 times. The first and second time they told me it was a slight cold but her temperature was extremely high. The third time they finally confirmed that she had tonsilitis. They gave me anti-biotics and she was fine after a couple of days. Better to be safe than sorry!!!!

I'd definitely phone NHS direct/ They're really hepful and a nurse will call you back pretty quickly. They may suggest you take her to A&E, but it's not something to panic about. They'll just want to ensure that she's not becoming dehydrated, as this is not only bad for her organs, but will make her feel even more crappy within herself.
I hope she starts feeling better soon, it's so awful when your little one is ill.
