We can live our lives without worries and tensions by being bored out of our skulls.
Care about another person. Try it, you'll find it involves concerns for their well being. You'll worry about them. Care about a war in the world. Doesn't matter which nations, just pick a war. You'll find yourself caring and, thus concerned for the lives of the people involved, at least to some teeny degree.
Love, try it, without worrying about that person. Stop caring about their well-being and see if it's still love.
Be happy about something, anything, the colour blue, without worrying what should happen should it no longer be there. Blue could disappear.
Be happy about it without knowing the constant joy of it not having disappeared.
You can live your life with no worry or tension but you will never know joy, hope, and love.
There is always balance, even when we don't see it.

We can't!! But we can stop worrying about every little thing. By (like everybody else said here) taking one step at a time, and by trying to never climb the bridge before you reached it. That would not only stop you from enjoying what you have but would open a door for the things you fear most to happen (like relationship wise, for example)
