Could this be it?
Sorry about the capitals

DEATH IS NOTHING AT ALL I HAVE ONLY SLIPPED AWAY INTO THE NEXT ROOM. I AM I, AND YOU ARE YOU. WHATEVER WE WERE TO EACH OTHER, THAT WE STILL ARE.

CALL ME BY MY OLD FAMILIAR NAME, SPEAK TO ME IN THE EASY WAY IN WHICH YOU USED.

PUT NO DIFFERENCE IN YOUR TONE, WEAR NO FORCED AIR OF SOLEMNITY OR SORROW. LAUGH AS WE ALWAYS LAUGHED AT THE LITTLE JOKES WE ENJOYED TOGETHER. PLAY, SMILE THINK OF ME, PRAY FOR ME.

LET MY NAME BE EVER THE HOUSEHOLD WORD THAT IT ALWAYS WAS, LET IT BE SPOKEN WITHOUT EFFECT, WITHOUT THE SHADOW OF A GHOST IN IT. LIFE MEANS ALL THAT IT EVER MEANT. IT IS THE SAME AS IT EVER WAS, THERE IS UNBROKEN CONTINUITY.

WHY SHOULD I BE OUT OF MIND BECAUSE I AM OUT OF SIGHT? I AM WAITING FOR YOU FOR AN INTERVAL, SOMEWHERE VERY NEAR, JUST AROUND THE CORNER.

ALL IS WELL

I had this read out at my wifes funeral 18 months ago by her brother & his wife.
It still brings a tear to my eye & a lump in my throat.

Yes, I agree. It is a beautiful poem written by Canon Henry Scott Holland either at the end of the 1800s or at the turn of the century. It was read at a recent funeral I went to and it had me in tears cos it is so lovely!

Henry Scott Holland. It is a beautiful poem, one that can be read at almost any funeral.
When our daughter died, at 17, a brave soul read Shakespeare's sonnet 'Shall I compare thee to a summer's day, thou art more lovely and more temperate ...' She was an ill, severely autistic child. I have many poetry books, and have just bought another - Do Not Go Gentle ...poems for funerals. Sorry to reply so sadly.
