when i first came on, i was seriously seeking honest answers to a sincere question. and so i took every question seriously.
it makes me laugh at how seriously i took everything when i first came on. and after reading more answers from people, i learned to lighten up.
now it's a mix. but when the question is obviously serious, i mostly give a serious answer for it.

Initially I answered every question from the heart. Then after a while I found that my heart had broken. I then developed a healthy synicism. But I do try to answer honest questions honestly and humourous questions humourously.

To answer your question
Did you tackle every question seriously and then lighten up later?
It really depended on the question. If it was a family relationship question, yes I took it seriously. And I still do?
Were you always silly?
I avoid the silly questions, I don't answer them. They are not worth my while even though I get 2 points.
Ar you still very serious, because for pete's sake.. this aint no game?
Obviously I am still very serious, just the fact that I am answering you questions seriously should be proof.
I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Peoples feelings are fragile. I would not want to feel responsible if a question was serious and I made fun of the person.

actually just like you I started answering questions seriously but as time goes by I learned to lighten up a bit... And now I also keep on answering silly things, but of course if the question is serious I also answer in a serious way...
:D

I really enjoyed answering the questions and put a lot into my answers, but more and more I found that people didn't want to hear it and even wrote my personal account about what an evil, hateful, judgemental person I was......lol.
I did this for fun so I would sometimes reply, (the more disturbing emails I turned over to Yahoo and the police.) I would reply that I was sorry that they didn't like my answer, but I was answering the question as best I could, and if they couldn't deal with my answer, then they should not ask on a public web site that is accessed by millions if not billions each day.
I stopped even writing back the emails I got for how messed up I was.......lol, I was answering their question about something. It just shows how tacky some people are when they can hide behind a screen name and write whatever they want about someone, I would love to talk with them personally about what they wrote me, but so far they have left me alone......

It depended on the question. Some questions I answered VERY seriously, others begged to be answered with the silliest answer I could find. Some areas I avoid entirely, simply because the politics of some people really tick me off. I come here, and find cool questions like this one, and hopefully silly ones. I'm tired of being ticked off, I do that enough during the day, I come here to relax. Which is what I'm doing right now, smoking a cigarette, drinking coffee, listening to Beethoven, and seriously answering your question....in a very relaxed manner, of course!

If honest, I'm seriously silly.
Some questions do require a modicom of sanity though. Some people are not playing a game. Some people actually want a sensible answer, which for the most part I give. But if I do not know the answer, I may try to raise a smile (in a non-sleasy, non-offensive manner).

I was always very serious at my answers, although when the questions violate a rule or does not make sense at all, I do not take it seriously. Well, I do it for fun but I answer the questions seriouslY ^^ ... I know im not gonna make any profit in this, well actually I do, I get to express myself and help other people by sharing my knowledge ^^

Exactly the same as you. I was a bit scared of asking something stupid or even use the wrong grammar (after seen what I've seen now...) and I asked how many people died during Hitler's holucaust. (well, I did want to know). 9 people answered.
Then I asked why did the chicken cross the road...and I got 5 times more answers. I started to think it might not be that serious as I thought....

Started serious but had to give a bit of a dig for questions like:
"Why do they dim the lights on takeoff?"
"why is the sky blue?"
cos the people really deserve a kicking for asking questions that appear day after day after day
I try to be serious and helpful, but some questions are so thick, I can't resist having a laugh...
