Some people says that some very common factors developing this kind of a problem. These factors are: your increasing age - as the skin becomes thin making it more vulnerable and saggy, some kind of an allergy which affects your nasal passage, lack of sleep, pregnancy, smoking, menstruation and heredity. But according to most research dermatologists, serious dark circles are about the oxidation of hemoglobin (blood) in the capillary matrix of the peri-orbital eye area. There is an ordinary cream HYLEXIN that will seriously solve problem.

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

It varies from person to person, though.
For some, just adding a few more hours in their sleep lightens the dark circles.
Others change their diets and eat healthier (and exercise).
Some apply creams (from the magazines I have read, they claim Hylexin works).
While you're still figuring out which one works best for you, you can apply undereye concealer so you'll still look fresh.
I personally love Estee Lauder's.
It's longlasting and isn't sticky. It dries faster than cream so you won't have to keep on pulling the skin under your eyes (increases chances of more wrinkles)

In essence it is bruising from swollen tissues.Cover makeup will help, but adequate sleep is a factor.Believe it or not Preparation H or other over the counter meds for swelling will help for a while.Be very careful not to get them in your eyes though. If you have the means , consult a cosmetic surgeon for a permanent solution
