the word is used too lightly nowadays. here are words from the greek describing love in 4 ways. the english text has no depth to it.
agape- gods love
fileo- friend love
stargae- family love- mother/daughter,father/son, brother/sister
eros- sexual-erotica
Now that ive listed the meanings of these i can tell you that most of the world goes with the eros kind of love. True love in its sense is a love that god gives you for a person as well as freindship with that person and attraction to that person. Infatuation is simply just sexual if you really think about it. all you can think about is joining in that way with this person. real love isnt obbsessive like that. infatuation can turn into love but only if the level of infatuation is not too great. The difference is that love is unconditional and infatuation is not. Love lasts, infatuation does not. This is becoz that when a person loves another, he doesn't care what she looks like, how she behaves or anything. He loves her for her. On the other hand, infatuation is being mesmerized by an illusion that someone else is perfect. Once the infatuated person discovers that the person he is infatuated with isn't perfect, he'll lose interest.

Infatuation can never lead to love,It always leads to obsession and stalking then jail.Infatuation is an admiration of a attractive person who knows how and when to get what they can out of you that person happends to be the type of person you yourself wish to be.LOVE is when that person is your first thought when you wake up everyday and your last thought when drifting into dream land,Your heart beats like a race horse and get those butterfly flutterings in your belly whenever you see him or answer the phone and he/she is on the other end.Can you feel all those things?Can you picture your life 5 or 10 yrs. down the road with this person?If so than it is LOVE all the way.

Infatuation is when you are attracted to things about a person. They may be true or not, but you perseave them to be true.
Love is when you are attracted to the real person. When you know who they really are.

Love means you know the persona and have deep feelings for them.. Infatuation is seeing the person and wanting them.. Not knowing a thing about them and lusting after them because of their looks..

that is easy,, love is over a long time with who you love moms dads brothers sisters,, or new spouses,,,, and in fatuation is, like having a giant endless crush on tom hanks ,, in hollywood,,,,,, hope that helps,,, feel blessed that you have love,, its what makes life so great.
