Hi I'm just hoping someone might advise me one the best material for a chiminea Clay or cast iron? is it true that the clay ones can't use coal as it gets to hot?

Cast iron will last a long time... I would invest the money in them... nothing beats a small fire on the patio on a cool summer's night.

Hi Ive had clay one for the last 5 years if you put a layer of sand in the bottom you can burn any thing in it. Ive had no problems burning coal, charcoal or logs. you get more designs in clay than in cast iron ones.

Be careful with clay as they can crack over time.
I'd go for cast iron.
