I took the First Response pregnancy test this morning and it came out negative. But recently I have been gagging and throwing up after I eat certain foods, mainly chicken, (and I love eating chicken) And it is not like me to throw up. Also when I don't eat I start to feel nauseous, I have also been sleeping a lot lately. And I have been feeling like this the past three weeks and the nausea didn't start till two weeks ago. My period started Friday afternoon but it was brown spotting and a little blood and Sunday morning it was done. And usually my period are 5 to 6 days and heavy the first two days. In my family it is known to have your period the first couple of months during pregnancy. So I do not know whats going on. So is there a chance the test could be a false negative? Are the hCG levels high enough to be detected on a home pregnancy test or do I have to take a blood test. Thanks.

With the dark brown in the menses sounds like it was more of a false period...Did you wait the full month before taking the ept? Sometimes that has something to do with it....My daughter is pregnant at this time and they never gave her a blood test.,.was told by Dr. They don't do that anymore....I would give it a week then retry to test...if stilll negative...call dr. Good luck.

it wouldn't matter if you had your period or not as the pregnancy tests are accurate.
they can detect a very small amount of HCG hormone.
some can even detect when you are one week pregnant(the week before your period).
You have symptoms of a 6-8 week old fetus.so the clues that you feel sick is a sign of a strong pregnany, meaning your results would definately show in a pregnany test.
take another test or go to doctor to get a blood test as the tests they use are exactly the same as the over the counter ones(my aunt is a doctor)

I think you should wait a few days and re-test. This happened to me as well. It ended up being a mix of not taking birth control pills regularly (skipping days by accident) and stress. The more you stress yourself, the more awkward your period will be. I had the brown "period" for 2 days and then two weeks later I had my period for 7 days. This repeated itself the next month as well.

It sounds to me like you are pregnant, but I would wait a week or two and take the test again. You can go ahead and make an appointment for your doctor. (It took me three weeks to get in to see mine.) You can always cancel later if you want to.

The best chances to know if you are pregnant is to take a blood test. You will know in an hours time if you are pregnant or not. Good luck!!

Common sense says visit a doctor. None of us here are experts, no matter how many children some of us might have. See a doctor, he'll tell you if you're sick (and give you something for it) or if you're pregnant. The sooner you find out the better. Now GO.
