Well, I'm sure it isn't a 2 cycle engine, therefore you can rule out the oil to fuel mixture......

White smoke indicates unburnt fuel. It is possible you have a burnt valve or something to that nature. You could do a compression test to rule that out. But with that, loss of compression could mean a few other things too. But if you have good compression in all cylinders, it would rule out a bad valve. or valve seat.

If it smoke a gaggle once you first start up it you decide on seals on the valve courses. Valve seals enable oil to leak into the combustion chamber and then burns off once you start up it inflicting alot of smoke. If it keeps to smoke after warming up, then you definately have a difficulty with rings or the valve seals are so a techniques long previous that it helps oil to drip into the cylinder each and all of the time. this could additionally be a head gasket blown between an oil port and the cylinder. desire this helps.........solid luck !

Sounds like an engine problem. The white smoke is usually water. Either a bad intake manifold gasket or a head gasket. Get it fixed before it causes you more problems and leaves you distressed on the road.

theres a oil leak in your combustion chamber..maybe worn out valve seal/valve guide.. this cause the white smoke.. OR try check the engine breather hose. (a hose connected to the air cleaner box from the engine block)

p/s: a faulty turbocharger moto`r also emits white smoke... plenty of them..

another p/s: is it grey/white color smoke OR blueish/white smoke..?

white smoke is a sign of antifreeze getting into the engine where it is not supposed to be... sounds like a head gasket :(
Hope I'm wrong.

I think that means you are either burning rich, or it could be just cold out. (Burning rich means your engine isn't burning all the fuel that is being putinto the intake.

oxygen to gas ratio doesn't sound right, that age of a car, have them look at catylitic converter and make sure it isn't plugged up, that would be my first look on it
