Possibly, but you might want to save a little more money just to be on the safe side. There are motels in the area that charge $200 per week and you can eat some pretty good chinese food for a buck. If you have job experience, start applying for jobs now with a resume. A little trick I learned is to get an inexpensive prepaid cell phone with a local phone number and make up phony address, unless you have friends or family in the area. In my experience businesses seem to want to hire local people that apply for jobs than relocators. Also, check the online yellow pages and contact motels to see what there rates are or possibly rent a room from someone for your first month and have a little left over. GOOD LUCK SUPERSTAR!

Nope, $500 is not enough....
A motel cheapest I would image is about $50 a night...if you are serious...I would say $5000, rent a house with some people, and with that money you should have about 3 months to find a job and do things....
Keep in mind you're not the only person with this idea...it's extremely tough to do...sorry...but good luck in your endeavours.

depending on where you're traveling from, $500 will get you a room for a week at a Days Inn almost anywhere in So. Cal. Hermosa beach is a beautiful area, but alot of the other areas were not so hot if you are a single female. good luck honey! i had a great time there, but it wasent for me.

That's not enough to live on anywhere that I know of. I know some musicians who went to LA to make it big and within 2 yrs. they were back. Couldn't make enough to afford their rent and they said it is no place to raise a child! In fact they ran into something they never imagined would happen (in OH). They had to pay to play gigs in good clubs! Do your research on all expenses you could incur before you leap!
