Periods cease whenever you become pregnant and resume after that. Menopause is the time in a women's life when she stops ovulating and when menstruation ceases for good. Just as the age of the onset of your menses occurs, so does the age @ which a woman has her menopause. The most common time frame is from the late 40's to mid 50's but again, it can be much earlier or much later for some. Also, if a woman has a hysterectomy, she will cease to have a period. Hope this helps.
