statistics are really created by Spin doctors, who wish to show a particular result with real figures. Mostly by showing snapshots of a portion of the total group of statistics you can then show or prove the results you are looking for.

premeditated lies is a "little" strong but not really wrong, they are showing as I said the results they want you to see. Even the Stock market results are good example. CRASHED 470 points in a week!!! yuck wow -- but 470 out of 12000 is not really all that bad, if you look at the chart for a week it looks terrible if you look at the chart from zero to the top for a year it does not look so bad.

Such is the life of a statistic!

Approximately 50% of this statement is true somewhere around 60% of the time !! However, in recent surveys done on the average man on the street in ten of the world's busiest midsized cities--- 36 % of these people thought that at least 70 % of a similar statement was true more that 76 % of the time !!
Now I'm not 100 % sure that either of these "statistics" are facts or if they are completely fabricated by more than 90 % of those doing the studies--- but I'm at least 75 % sure that I don't care !!!

I don't know if I'd call it premeditated lies and made up, but it is definitely a man-made science so it is far from accurate. Basically statistics is trying to manipulate something mathematically so that you're within the 95th percentile chance that you can't be wrong.

No....But statistics are often based on the same types of people, meaning that not all groups are in the same study. I don't think they are lies, but i do believe a lot of them are unreliable.I don't go by them, I need facts not opinions, but that's just me.

the question you should ask is how many people here have personally participated in a political survey?
