I'm sorry, but MANY democrats don't understand the reality of the situation, and as a veteran, it is sooooo disasppointing. Man-up, and I would say that women are much stronger than we guys, MAN-UP!. I think that women like men who are strong, right? Whatever, if you disagree, think you are a hardcore man, join the service.

Just because I don't think we should be in the war in IRAQ, doesn't mean I don't want the US soldiers to be safe. But praying for their safe return, isn't the same as "rooting" for the war.

If we stayed in Afghanistan, after Osama Bin Laden, I would be for THAT war. Osama was the one behind the casualities of 9/11 - not Sadam Hussien.

The American public has been lied to for the purpose of getting us into Iraq, lied to as far as the progress in Iraq, and lied to as far as the future of Iraq. I know an Iraqi, and he said that his family feels less safe now, than before the US entered. At least before we entered, they could walk outside and go shopping without fear, as long as they did not celebrate against Sadam. Now, they can't even go outside for a loaf of bread, without taking their lives in their hands, afraid of being blown up in the market, or by an explosion on the way to the market.

I am sorry sir, you can't convince me that we need to be there, but don't try to get me to turn my backs on our men and women who are there. Many of them are brave men, there only because they are told to be there. Many are under-equiped as far as protection from bullets or bombs. This is a fact that was brought out in the news a while ago. President Bush, and all the other Republicans who sent them there, did not give them what they needed. At least, during other wars, our men were equipped with the best we had at the time. That is more than I can say about this war.

I'm sorry, but just because I support the soldiers, it doesn't mean that I HAVE to agree with the mission. It seems to me that the BEST way to support the soldiers is to get them out of harm's way, and bring them back. We apparently didn't learn ANYTHING from the Vietnam situation. Just because they are currently there doesn't mean the situation cannot be remedied!

EDIT -- Well said, NOTA!
