I keep getting the message that I have used up my daily limit of stars! What gives with that. I didn't know that there was a limit.

I got that message earlier tonight. I logged off. Then back on. And my star prevliges were magically restored. Try that.

That's no glitch.
You can't star more than 100 question per day
One of the limits you seem to have reached.
But you get a polite message:Thank you for being a star.
But:bla bla bla.

Yeah, they do limit the number of questions that you can ask or answer on a daily basis. Sucks tho, doesn't it?
