For the record, here are my own thoughts on this matter:

Judging from what I've seen in the suggestion forums, a lot of people are of the opinion that it all started in P&S and that they would like the whole category scrapped "because it contributes nothing to the site anyway".

Personally, I think a lot of the questions and answers in this category are very creative, and some of the regulars here are among the wittiest in Y!A. For that reason I think the category does contribute to the site.

The problem is that this 'rebellion' is annoying a lot of people, and it's (rightly or wrongly) being identified with posters from P&S. I fear that if it goes on for much longer there's a risk that Y!A may just scrap this category.

I doubt they'll scrap P&S as it is the most popular section on the site. Also, it would involve the Y!A team having to do some work, something which their obvious averse to.

However, I don't think posting the same question 100 times is going to achieve anything positive either (other than the loss of 500 points - DEAR GOD!). I've been using this site for about a year now. I keep getting kicked off, and I keep complaining and nothing happens.

I think when you get a violation you should just chalk it up as one of life's little annoyances and get on with your life. After all, this site is predominently used to waste time at work/school. It's not like there's any real benefits to be had from it. Also: it's free.

But anyway, what is it that lives in Philidelphia, wears two pair of pants, and it never rains but it pours?

A very thorough and thought out reply. I agree. In my opinion, unless they tell about their own violation experience, their complaint is worthless. And, the complaints are not being made to the people who can do anyting about it.

It is frustrating that the process was "broken" when it was implemented. I think that we can improve the process by providing positive suggestions for change.

A fair point fellow Marxist. It's getting annoying, but I'm not sure if there's any other way for the protesters to get their point across without getting ignored. There's a fine line between getting attention and pissing people off.

If they scrap P&S, then we'll just have to ask the same P&S type questions in Religion and Spirituality. They'd be made to regret it somehow.
