Travel agencies do not charge a fee for booking a trip with them and you don't "lose" money if a travel agency receives commission. I would check with family, friends, co workers to see if there is an agency they would recommend in your local area.

Some idea of where you are looking might help. Generally the fees are paid by the airline/hotel, not the customer.
