If the virus definition is regularly updated, new virus threats will be detected and blocked. Try downloading Eset 32. Its better than most brand names, including McAffee

AVG is pretty good, and so is Avast. I've used both and they seem to be just as good as the rest. AVG seems to be a tad slower than Avast. My brother, a computer whiz, swears that Avast is probably the best. So, yeah...either one will do just fine. Now, keep in mind, you can have the best Anti-virus software in the universe, and still get a virus. That is because the computer only knows what a virus is from the database of known, reported viruses. That is what the update is for, and why it is important to update quite often. So pretty much every new virus has one chance to "attack" before it is recognized as a virus. So you're never 100% safe. Sorry if that scares you!!

One thing that I have found of late in questions of this nature here in the Y-A------ those people who are paying the big bucks for the virus programs that are running on their systems are convinced that these Free programs are SO inferior to what they have !!!
But, I have had no less than three very expensive programs on my system at one time or another and have paid some fairly high dollars out for those programs--- with problems almost on an average of once or twice a year that were VERY difficult to deal with -- with these higher dollar dudes in the fight !!!
I switched to the AVG Free some seven months ago--- and just got thru updating to the newest version a couple months ago-- and there have been a couple of things that it has found on my system within the time that I've had it---BUT---each time that a "thing" is located--- ZIP ZAP ZOWIE--- it's gone---
I actually had Norton---when a Trojan developed on my system -- Norton actually threw up a window saying "I can't deal with this"---- less than a week later they were dunning me for more money-- that's when I said "calf rope" deleted them and haven't looked back--- as long as I get the kind of ease and effiecency out of AVG that I am--- I ain't ever paying these bulky lazy ******* another red cent for the "work" they don't do !!!

Go in for AVG they are cool,,,, Avast is good too, I used AVG and avast sometime before. Avast is good for protection while AVG is great for search and terminate. Now at present i use NOD 32. This is also very effective in protection and ternimation. NOD 32 has also got a virus vault in which all the virus which were, and willl come in future. most of the cluster viruses contain trojan 32 viruses. NOD 32 and AVG are trustworthy........

Later, I have downloaded Norton Anti virus from net. It was very helpful to me to detect VIRUS. It have found 58 Infected Virus.

I use AVG & avast!4.7 Home Edition together on my PC without any conflicts, and they do a great protection job.
You can download them both from the link below.
