The mac can also run a wide variety of XP office and games, either nativtly, in dual boot to XP, or in emulation mode.

Mac's run on a igh level version of a secure Linux lernal, and has been stable and secure for a while now.

Currently I have an XP laptop for convenience, and a MAC desktop. Wish it were the other way around. I love the mac interface and operation.

Check the games you're going to run and see which unit measures up (or get a gamebox for the games). If you are doing specific programs for business, double check the specs to ensure you have a unit that can run the software for sure.

I would encourage the Mac

If you want a Mac notebook for gaming youll need a Macbook pro, the regular Macbooks are comparable to the typical PC notebook, not good for gaming because the graphics cards use shared memory.

You can install Windows in addition to Mac OS X to ensure full compadibility. Most games there is a Mac version for also however.

Macs make allot better use of RAM so 1 gig of RAM on a Mac is gonna make a big difference. Windows XP can barely function with 512. Vista is even worse.

Simple Explanation:

Gaming:
Pc has a wider range of games
Macs have better use of RAM
---> but macs can run windows and mac OSX on the same computer, so can run windows games

Security:
Macs are better computers. Period. Very, very secure
Pcs seem to always fail at this

The new windows, Vista, is having heaps of problems with driver compatability for hardware and software...

Macs can run microsoft office

Id go with the mac

I am a Mac user and strong advocate but even I would say you are mad to buy a mac if you want gaming. Yes they are powerful and will run your games as well as top end P.C's but there is just not a 20th of the titles released on the mac as for the pc just making it not a option for a serious gamer.

PC was on the "Daily Show" and Mac was in the movie "Accepted"
(He was also in "Herbie, fully loaded," but give him a break, the dude's gotta eat. You don't want him ending up like Dell Steve)

in short...
mac is better in terms of security ....windows easier to use but lack tat much security measures...

if uve got internet related works then mac is better...
for gaming its windows [ tho these days most games do work on mac .. chk out the specifications b4 u use them ]

for softwares too windows is more convenient...
almost all softwares work on windows but its not da same with mac.. tho again there r mac equivalents n special versions for mac too

truly speakin i wud suggest u to chose acc to ur priority...
depends which.. amongst gamin n office work .... is more imp to u ...
if its office then try mac if gamin then go windows...

but overall [ incase both r equally imp ] i think mac is da better option...

opinions may vary.... tats wat i think
do bit more research n then decide on it...
