I had a customer with similar problems and it ended up being the compressor pump. Pricey. Your best solution is to take it into a repair shop and have them pull the trouble codes and do a diagnostics.

when the light is on, that means there is a "code" that needs retrieved. could be anything from a leak to a bad sensor. when the system detects any problem, it will go into a fail safe mode, the only way to start here is to find out what code is set first, then go from there.
