i'm playing the 1st movement from sonata quasi una fantasia in E flat, op. 27 no.1 by Ludwig van Beethoven in the Grade 8 trinity book. When i play the fast passages, my hands sometimes doesn't seem to respond. please help me

I will let you in on the best only Answear someone can give here. its hand exercises. while holding one hand open, the other hand is closed. In your open hand, close one finger and in the closed hand (fist) open the corraponding finger. repeat the process for every finger till the open hand is closed, and the closed hand open, once you can do this without thinking much about it, try the piece again.

Try some exorcises... like ones guitar players do.... get a stress ball and work your hand. Then do stretches, extending pinky finger and thumb, open, clsoed, ect. Its all about the muscle groups. good luck.

Relax. Breathe. Tension makes your hands tight as well. Make sure you do warmup scales, etc. before you begin playing.
