I think I lost some of my mucus plug (not sure if it's some or all) but I'm only 21 weeks. I have read lots of discriptions of what the mucus plug looks like...thick snot. Mine wasn't pink or anything, just sort of an opaque white. But there was quite a bit and I'm just slightly worried. Can a mucus plug be lost and then grow back without labor coming soon? This my first pregnancy so I don't know what all to expect.

Isn't pregnancy fun? I don't think it was a mucous plug. From the description sounds normal female discharge. Increased hormones tend to increase discharge. You only need to worry if it is foul smelling, green, yellow or bloody, these could be signs of infection. Mucous plugs can be lost early without problems. If you are concerned go see you OB, because truthfully who are going to believe people you don't know or the doctor you are trusting to deliver your baby? Congrats on soon being a mommy. PS just wait until the little darling begins to use your bladder as a soccer ball. Incontinence is such fun!

If it was only thick white it could just be discharge.
Women who are pregnant can experiance a gretter amount of discharge do to the increased level of hormones it their systems.
If you are really concerned go see your doctor, but more then likely its not your mucus plug.

unless you have some complications, the mucus plug will grow back if lost this early. I doubt it though. You most likely still have it. What you described sounds like normal discharge, you'll have increase amount during pregnancy.

I didn't pass my mucas plug until I went into labour.(I was 10 days overdue) You will definately know when it has happened. It is like clear jelly. When you are pregnant you produce more discharge which is what this sounds like.Just make sure the discharge doesn't smell as pregnant women are more prone to infection.

Good Luck
