I started highland dancing (scottish dancing) when I was 9 - 20 years ago - and passed my teachers exam in 1996. I teach in Redcliffe, Qld. I love highland. It is great for your co-ordination, stamina and self confidence. I think it looks beautiful when done correctly too. And, it's fun - you don't have to be the best so long as you are enjoying yourself.

I learn and teach.

I learn bellydancing, English Country, Italian Renaissance, some Russian folk dances and Elizabethan dances.

I teach English Country, Italian Renaissance and some Russian folk dances and Elizabethan dances, just not Morris.

I don't have a favourite, but bellydancing makes me feel very womanly and shapely and curvy, especially camels and undulations.

I am currently a student of Art Of Dance in Burlington,Ontario. I take Ballet,Jazz,Tap,Pointe, Contemperary and I also help with a class. I think Jazz or Contemperary might be my favorite because it really gets your body moving with fast beats and sharp movments. One day I hope to join the Rockettes or National. Or open up my own studio!

I am a theatre arts/dance student at CSU Fresno. We are required to take modern dance, ballet, dance history, dance choreography and there are many electives from which we can choose. I choose to participate in something called University Dance Theatre or UDT. Here, students are challenged to be both performers, choreogprahers and designers as well as managing a production.
Typically, I choose to choreograph in the modern/post-modern style of dance. It seems to be the most effective manner in which I can communicate my ideas. I also have begun making dance videos. I will link one, so you can see what my choreography is like.

I am a DanceTeacher in Southeastern Ohio. I have studied classical ballet, noble ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, ballroom, modern, and contemporary. I teach at my studios: Classical ballet, noble ballet, jazz, tap, ballroom, and hip-hop. My favorite form of dance would have to be ballet. I love the precision, and the beauty of grace. My studio's website is below!

I'm a competitive Irish step dancer making my way up the ranks :) I'm currently a novice now but hope to be a prizewinner before the year is over :)

Nickers, could you recommend a good highland school in TN or in Toronto? I always wanted to pick up scottish dance, but never could find a place for it. :-)

i take all kinds of dance: ballet, jazz, lyrical, hiphop, pointe, tap and modern. it is my LIFE! i am also a teacher's assistant in ballet, jazz and tap classes. my favorite is ballet (i take 5 hours of class a week and teach 4 hours of it a week) because it is the basis of everything else. the more i improve in ballet, the more i improve in other areas.
