For example: tornadoes, hurricanes, mudslides, forest fires (not set by man), blizzards, etc...
Just curious - it seems wherever you live there is something...
Maybe a meterologist would be able to answer this.
Thank you.

Okay, just to set the record straight and try to get answers that actually attempt to answer my question... Let me clear up what is NOT being asked:
1: this isn't an attempt to debate whether there is a God
2: or if such tragedies are "acts of God"
3: or an attempt to run and hide. I have lived in my midwestern state all of my life and have no intention of moving any time soon.
It is simple curiousity. I hear people say "I'm tired of tornadoes (or hurricanes, or ice storms...) so I am moving to________!" Just got me thinking that there seems to be some weather issue everywhere. So please, no religious takes (I am open to discussing those in the Religion and Spirituality forum) or talk of running and hide. Please just answer the question for what it is - just a question about weather-related deaths.

P.S. there are some very bitter and angry people out there... relax people, this isn't a personal affront on your belief (or non-belief). Of course, I think some are just looking for a reason to rant and know they are taking an angle on the question just for an excuse to do so. (not just this question, I see this on many questions that are posted)

Okay, I asked the our local ABC affiliate here in Chicago. Mike Caplan, the meterologist, was kind enough to email me back and give me this link:

This is the answer I was looking for to satisfy my curiousity. Thank you Mike!

Best place to hide would be HELL! No deaths there from ACT OF GOD because the devil is the master there.

To claim something as an Act Of God you must be able to prove conclusively that God exists. Since no-one has proven in a court of law that God does or does not exist one can only decide for one's self if there is or is not a God. One must then ask how do you know specifically what Acts are Acts Of God? God is touted as a loving being so why would God kill people for no reason? Only man does that. Weather - is it "controlled" by God? Does God sit up there in Heaven or wherever with a remote control or a computer interface or something and say "hmmmm.... lets wipe out Kentucky with a hurricane, then we'll do Florida with a tidal wave".... "Oh hang on a sec, there's a bloke sitting under a tree, I think I'll make it fall on him..." Total and absolute CRAP!

Act Of God is just a cover-up. It is blaming someone when there is no-one to blame but randomness. Someone said that "randomness is totally predictable". Well if that is true why can't they predict the winning lotto numbers, or predict (with 100% accuracy) where and when the next storm will hit and millions of other things? Why? because randomness is not controlled by anyone or anything, it is an endless series of actions and reactions within the universe.

One must accept the immutable law: S H I T Happens! No-one causes it, no-one controls it, it just happens. Why does your neighbour win lotto and you don't? He has the same numbers to choose from as you. Was that also an Act Of God? Maybe it was because you pi*ssed him off so he stopped you picking the winning numbers out of spite and vengeance.

Like God told Caine - you can run, but you can't hide.

Sorry to tell you this, but each and every state in the US has its fair share of deaths by "acts of nature." And in case you haven't noticed, nature is vamping up and more deaths are occurring globally.
The phrase, "No where to hide" comes to mind.

Since there is no "god," there is no such thing as an "act of god" death.

Therefore the statistics are 0% in all 50 states.

Why? Looking for somewhere to hide from God? Sorry, god kills in all states and countries, (surprising number of tornadoes in "the bible belt", though, don'tcha think?)
