I have received an email from yahoo customer care after i wrote to them to make a complaint about someone following my profile and maliciously reporting me and thumbing down every answer I've written for over a week..I received over 13 violations in one day thanks to someone who had some kind of grudge against me,so I made a complaint and they are now looking into my complaint of harassment and seeking the participant who is harassing me because it is against the Yahoo TOS to abuse the report abuse button..All I can say is every time you receive a violation that you feel is unwarranted then make a complaint..Good luck...What makes me laugh the most about my stalker is that my communication is open so if they have a problem with me then why not discuss it one to one like rational adults..

Violation reports should not have the ability to get people suspended. By all means complain and if one person receives a lot of complaints Yahoo should be able to suspend but only if they concure that the violations are justified and the alleged offender has had an opportunity to defend themselves.

It's simple: If a report has validity then it is supported by removing the offender. If someone is abusing the reporting by attempting to get someone kicked out for 'other' reasons then they should be kicked out or curtailed.
I like the idea of making it part of the structure - the more points you have the more you can report.
(RE: Tattle-tales: Standing up for principles and for what is, or was, basic common sense is harder and takes more courage than doing nothing! Besides if you were being attacked in a park, would you want someone to be a 'tattle-tale' and help you or call the police?)

I think if you report an actual violation based on the "policies", then what's to worry about? Why is everyone so paranoid?
People who break the rules get suspended.
People who abuse the violation process get suspended.

Yes it should. I can't believe Yahoo can't separate the legitimate complaints from the just plain malicious ones

Yes it should. Yahoo need to change their system and ensure they check that a report is fair and justified. My support is offered to this campaign.
