Welcome to Filipinas, the only Catholic nation in Asia. We have here Christians and Muslims mingling together although sometimes there are some discrimination. i'm a catholic and will even vote for the Sultan of Jolo this coming midterm elections. I think muslim Filipinos are more serious than Christian ones. We have here the Intramuros, the walled city in Old Manila. We have here residents whose dirty habits they dont carry overseas. We hate Japan bcoz they almost annihilated our land. We hate Yankees bcoz they tricked us during the Spanish-American War and the Filipino-American War. Well as for me, i study other cultures as well, especially the Jewish blabla. where are you from?

My name is James, I am part Lao, Chinese, French and Indian. I've lived in Toronto for the last 20 years and I love it. Canada is a great place to live and allows me to celebrate all parts of my identity.

In Toronto right now, it's pretty cold, but that's alright. I'll go to church a few times a year, occasionally I'll go to the temple, not because I am Buddhist, but more as a sign of respect for my family, some of whom are Buddhist. There are tons of different types of people in Canada, interracial marriages are quite common.

I'm a college student right now. I'm Korean. Many people are familiar with Japanese culture but not Korean which is really unfortunate. Korea is a neighbouring country of Japan. Right now, Korean peninsula is divided in two; South Korea and North Korea. Sometimes people would ask me, are you from north or south? this is really amusing because people from the north are not legally permitted to leave the country. This also shows how people lack in knowledge about Korea. Korea has very beautiful culture. I think majority of people are just too caught up with Japanese fever that they don't get to see our culture.
We have what is called, mask dancing drama. Actors and actresses wear traditional masks and dance. Usually, they don't talk but tell the story through the motions and facial expressions on the mask and through dance. Sometimes they would sing. Also, Korean traditional singing method is very unique. It's very hard to sing as well so only people with the talent and the techniques can do it. One of the most famous and loved traditional song is called Arirang. It's about love. I think Koreans like love songs very much. Also, we have some amazing instruments. Such as haegum, kayagum etc. On special occasions, we normally wear traditional costume. It's looks are very elegant and graceful. It's quite the opposite of Japanese costumes from my point of view. Korean costume have top and bottom. The Skirt is usually wrapped around your chest and comes down to your feet. It makes oneself look less fat and whenever you move, it moves very smoothly. You should look it up on the internet. There are so many things. Korean drama is famous too. And Korean food is very yummy. Mostly, vegetables and fish. Lots of Koreans like hot and spicy food. Did you know that there are more than 100 types of Kimchi? Nowadays, very few people prepare food in traditional way because it takes lots of time and work. Usually, we eat bowl of rice with soup and side dishes. And pots, stew etc whatever you like. We also have lots of mountains there but all of them are non active volcanoes except one i think. We also have hot spring and our special way of taking bath. It's very popular in Japan as well. Lots of people bathe in Korean way cuz it makes your skin very nice. I used to go to hot spring once every week. I wish to tell you more but, too much^^;hope you find interest in our culture!
