She did not have a good response. The proper "professional" way, if you will, would have been to politely say "I'll be right back" or "Give me just a moment to serve this dinner and I'll be right with you."
I swear to God that manners have been lost on people. Sure, waitressing isn't glamorous, but some of us do love our jobs. She apparently doesn't.

I dont think if a server doesnt refill a drink makes them a bad server, there are many things that can hinder that. There are times that I down my drink as soon as the server leaves the table.
However, to cop an attitude like that is WAY out of line. She should have handled the situation in a better way. I give her credited for apologizing for her mistake--however, I dont like her excuse "doesn't like it when ppl are calling her when she is on her way to help another customer."

Yes, it was rude. Your request was polite and didn't deserve the attitude. Firstly, you had no way of knowing she was on her way to serve another customer, and even if you did, you asked for the refill "if she had a moment." She has no right to give you attitude. It's her job. You're tipping her for her service and shouldn't have to put up with rudeness. I hope you didn't leave her a very big tip.

Yes she was very rude for copping an attitude at you when you've politely asked her for assistance, she shouldn't of been walking by without checking on you at all.
If I was in your situation I would've asked her for her name and report her to the manager cause if I was the manager and I've gotten complaints from the customers I would do something about it.
I would never go to Shari's when it's really busy cause they never seem to schedule enough servers no matter what time of day it is.

I think it was rude of her having an attitude towards you for asking her for assistance but if I was the server and I was on my way to help another server I would've at least been polite towards the customer requesting to get a refill, plus the server who was rude to you should've been checking on you a bit more often.

in simple terms as quickly as have I ever been quite impolite to a server, which replaced right into a pair of years in the past. My husband, my 2 infants and that i've got been seated and waited over a a million/2 an hour for anybody to even come to our table - the servers have been all status around and speaking in simple terms some feet away. The eating place replaced into virtually empty. One finally asked if anybody had waited on us. They then argued among themselves as to who replaced into going to get us. finally a guy "lost" i think. He got here around, pulled up a chair and sat down. He stated, "fortunate me. i'm getting to attend on you adult men," very ironically. He for sure did no longer choose the tip. The nutrition arrived plenty later, chilly, and the order replaced into incorrect. We asked for the administrative finally, yet have been informed that there replaced into no supervisor there. (Huh???) besides, often i'm very solid approximately tidying up the table until now we go away ... 2 toddlers could make a extensive mess. that's the single time i did no longer, and we left $a million. (The bill replaced into like $50 or extra). I waited tables for years, all the way by way of intense college and school, then I bartended additionally. I consistently attempt to furnish the excellent thing related to the doubt and tip generously. no longer this time.

It was definitely rude of her! I am a server, so I know that servers get busy and stressed sometimes, but she should've said, "I'll be back with that refill in just a minute."
Now, if she was already talking to another customer and you interrupted to ask for a refill, I'd have some sympathy for her, but if she's walking by she's fair game.

She was rude and out of line. Her proper response should have been: I am helping another customer right now but will get your refill in a moment. The apology was fine but she was still wrong.

That was rude but at least she apologized. She must have realized that wasn't going to get a tip. I've encountered b*tchy waitresses. I'm always very polite and respectful to the server so I didn't understand the rude treatment. It's not the customer's fault if you hate your job or have your period or whatever.

That was extremely rude of her. It is her job to serve her customers. She should have either said "Yes, no problem, I'll bring it right over" or "I'll be with you in just a moment". Something as simple as that would have prevented her rude ness.
I hope you'll have better luck and a better experience the next time you visit that restaurant.
