The older people are more trusted than the younger since they don't slack off while working.

1) Because older people are more dependable than a teenager and
2) Because McDonalds can't discriminate against those who are of an older age. Which is why it probably states on their applications that they are an EOE (equal opportunity employer) meaning they cant discriminate based on age, sex, creed or religion etc.
and
3) Because some older people are retired and are looking for something to do with all their spare time

they're are a lot of reasons older people are employed by McDonalds

because Mcdonnalds is an equal oppetunity employer. the older people are good at keeping the lobby clean, greeting customers as they walk in the door, and they have more experience when talking to people. the elderly arent useless. they are wise and we can learn a lot from their expeiences.
ild rather see a mixture of ages when i walk into a mcdonnalds the a bunch of 15 year olds running around goofing off, which i have seen.

Older people need to work just like anyone else. I personally like it when an older person is working in a restaurant. I don't like dealing with those young moody teenagers.

First, because teenagers can't work daytime, because they are supposed to be in school.

Second, because teenagers can't work past about 8:00 (varies by municipaity) because they are supposed to be off work 8 hours before going to (you guessed it) school.

Third, as mentioned, they are more reliable. They might even need the money to pay rent, and are not going to just blow off a shift because they want to hang out with some friends.

They are more dependable workers than many younger people, and there are age discrimination laws. Also they don't call off like the younger kids do.

Because people of that generation were bought up better and have manners..unlike the kids of today!

I can only assume you are asking why McDonald's hires older people. We have laws that say discrimination is illegal, be it race, creed, sex, or age.

Older employees have less absences. They are reliable and honest, for the most part.
