In Linneaus' Nomenclature, it is genus then species (also know as specific epithet). Therefore, C is the specific epithet.

Class: Mammalia
Order: Proboscidea
Family: Elephantidae
Genus: Loxodonta
Species: L. africana

I'd be guessing but it must be "C", since Loxodonta is the genus.
