As most other people have said, canids howl at the full moon--wolves and coyotes are perhaps best known for it, but dogs and dingos do as well. Also, I'm pretty sure that I saw my neighbor out there the other night as well--but it could have been his son.

coyote or wolf. I don't think they're really howling at the full moon, it just appears that way.
