When he bites, get down on his level and say very firmly 'no biting' and then take him away from whatever activity he is doing and give him no attention. That way he will learn that if he bites he misses out on fun things and doesn't get your attention. Make sure that when he is being good he gets lots of positive attention and look for a pattern of when he is biting. It may be that he does it when he is scared by a loud noise or he sees you playing with other children/talking to other adults. If you see him becoming upset or angry, try to intervene before it gets to the point of him biting. For example, try calming him with a story or a change of activity. Hope this helps.

i'll tell you what NOT to do. one of my friends was told by her pediatrician to bite the child back in the exact same place that he bit the other child. she followed the doctor's direction. her youngest child bit his older brother on the butt cheek... SO, (shaking my head) he pulled down his diaper and bit him back EXACT SAME CHEEK. anyhow, the kids dad came to pick him up for the weekend and discovered the bite. the older child explained what mom did. PROTECTIVE SERVICE came to her home and told her that her children WOULD NOT be returned to and were being left in their father's care pending a full investigation. NO KIDDING SHE LOST HER KIDS and had to pay a LOT of money to keep her own butt cheeks out of jail !!!!! don't listen to any doctor that says bite back!
